The Mysteries of Everyday Life
I see this nearly every day on Broughton Street in Edinburgh, and I often think about the person who wrote it and who they are. My main options are:
a. A girl trying to be cool
or
b. Someone really laddish and annoying
or
c. Someone who is just really chirpy and wants to be super motivational to others
Maybe it’s actually been there for generations of flat renters, and there’s some sort of horrific hipster/student curse that will happen should you ever wipe it off.
I analyse things far too much.
So as I spent a really wonderful day at Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair today and got lots of wonderful photos, and as Beyonce is for some reason my ‘motivational music’ at the moment, this is a perfect video combination of my day. I love how she’s chain smoking through the entire video, but ‘it’s okay because it’s set in the 50s/60s.’
Now, if someone could see to it that in my next life I get reincarnated as her that would be super.

Those Meddling Kids are incredibly excited about this event, especially as we’ve been very kindly asked to be the guest style judge! We’ll be picking out the best dressed guys and dolls at the Fair, and there will even be shiny medals involved, as well as various forms of internet photography fame.
So if you fancy getting all dressed up, or simply want a really fun day and some great vintage bargains, head along to HMV Picturehouse on Sunday the 20th of May from 12pm until 5pm. Not only will there be 40 vintage traders there from all over the country, but there will be bakery, DJs, vintage hairstyling by Miss Dixiebelle and altogether such an amazing day.
See the event page for more details: http://www.facebook.com/events/116429785156991/
This will be a feature in the first online magazine version of Those Meddling Kids, which we’re equally incredibly excited about.
Now that exams and uni and all that horrible stuff is over, I can actually focus on things that fully interest me again, how wonderful! To kick us off let’s have an amazing video from some brilliantly funny women in their spoof about why the Republicans should have control of their vaginas.
Woah, that’s a hell of a lot of good luck to have on one street.

In Belgium, it’s perfectly acceptable to have a career as the leader of a goose marching band. I’m not sure where on the scale of weird to amazing this falls.
Breaking Bad Ending, bittersweet symphony if ever I saw one.
Ahhh I just finished a near obsessive marathon of one of the most well written tv shows ever, Breaking Bad, and of course just to reaffirm how clever and wonderful it is, it had to end with a song from Rome, an album I’ve posted about before that featured Danger Mouse, Jack White, Norah Jones and stunningly beautiful production.
I enjoyed the ending so much it took me a few minutes to stop being so happy and realise that the fact that this does now mean it is over, and that I now have to find something else to do with my time, like…do work or something. Oh god.
